Bill Mumy

Bill Mumy is a multi-talented, prolific artist who entered the arena of professional entertainment at the age of five.  He has worked on over four hundred television shows and is best known by fans around the world for the creation of his memorable roles as the heroic boy astronaut, Will Robinson on the long running classic series Lost in Space, Anthony Fremont from The Twilight Zone and Lennier in the popular science fiction series Babylon 5 for five years.

Bill began his musical carreer in 1965 performing solo with an acoustic guitar and a bawdy folk song to a packed Hollywood Bowl audience.  Throughout the mid sixties he was often seen playing and singing on the classic tv series, Lost in Space, that Mumy starred in.

He formed his first band in 1969, an acoustic trio named Redwood, that recorded and performed for six years to great acclaim. Redwood’s recordings, Lost, But Not Really are available at Itunes.  In 1974, Bill climbed the charts singing, playing guitar and banjo on an album and hit single released from MCA; “Sunshine Soundtrack”. The single, “My Sweet Lady”, with Bill, Cliff DeYoung and Corey Fischer went to # 17 on the Hot 100 for fifteen weeks and reached # 7 on the Adult Contemporary charts where it stayed for 18 weeks. The album went gold.

In 1978 Bill toured the USA as Shaun Cassidy's guitarist. It was like being in a Hard Days Night (with lamer songs). He also co-wrote songs on Shaun's multi-platinum records.

Bill has written dozens of songs and themes used in many different film and television projects including one hundred and five songs for the live action series Adventures In Wonderland. Bill was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition.

Bill is half of the infamous novelty rock recording and short film making duo Barnes and Barnes.  Best known for the classic demented song and film Fish Heads, Barnes and Barnes have released nine albums and a feature length video.  Rolling Stone magazine named Fish Heads #57 of the all time greatest rock videos ever created.

Along with his acting and voice over careers, Bill is a prolific songwriter and solo recording artist who has released 15 solo CD's and numerous solo music videos. Velour (2016) being his latest CD released.

Bill worked with the pop group America off and on for over thirty years, composing dozens of songs, producing and performing with the band in the studio and onstage.  Bill had the honor of playing and singing with Ringo Starr's All Starr Band at the Greek Theatre in 2015. It was fab.
